Psalms 68:11
"The Lord gives the word; the women who proclaim it are a mighty host."
R church in Roatan had a women's retreat where the women were led by the keynote speaker Dr. Lisa Marie Hill to discover God's word spoken into their hearts and spoken over them. She led the women to focus on recognizing and listening to the gentle voice of God. She asked profound deep questions and used art to promote connections to God the Father, the Holy Spirit and to Jesus himself. In Isaiah 55:11 God assures his children that His word goes forth from his mouth and will not return back to Him empty but will accomplish what he desires. As Dr. Hill read personal letters she wrote for each and every woman, God's word was spoken directly to them, and each person who recieved a letter; recieved God's message for her. God filled the hearts of the women with His presence. Dr. Lisa focused the letter on the name of each woman and the meaning behind it. God became personal as the women discovered that God recognized them, was calling them by name and had given each and every one of them identity and purpose. I am going to share my letter as an encouragement to other women to develop that personal close relationship with God and to understand the words meant for me are meant for you as well. God knows my name as He knows yours. He has entrusted all women to gather a holy harvest and bear righteous fruit.

Dear Teresa,
The one who sows (sews) and the one who reaps may be glad together. (John 4:36).
Your name means harvester, one who gathers what has been planted. I believe that mantle rests on your life - like a jacket tailor made for you.
May this retreat remind you that your labor has never been in vain - every seed sown in tears, every prayer you've prayed in hidden places is so precious to Him.
You are a gatherer of lives, of memories, of joy, and He delights to put sickle and song in your hands.
I pray you walk from here knowing you are entrusted with a holy harvest, and that heaven celebrates the fruit your life bears.
Much love,
Dr. Hill
As the women reflected on the personal words written especially for them; Dr. Hill led the ladies into reflective worship and invitations to ponder their messages given by God. She asked;
What did God say...that I have silenced?
What word or promise from God have I tucked away, paused, or stopped believing was still alive?
What quieted that promise or word? Time? Busyness? Disappointment?
Do I still believe God meant His promises?
Where is God inviting me to listen with fresh trust?
In Numbers 23:19 scripture reminded the women that God is not a man, that he should lie, but speaks and keeps his word.
Day 2 of the retreat was special as Dr. Hill lead the girls to restore their inner temple through healing, stillness and prayer. John 4, Isaiah 61 and Luke 7 were key chapters that focused on
the Spirit of God upon Jesus and how he was able to bind up the broken hearted, proclaim the freedom for captives, and release from darkness prisoners. God will comfort those who mourn and bestow a crown of beauty instead of ashes and give His children a garment of praise. Through creative expression in art, the women created a "before and after" soul canvas, proclaimed scripture over others, built relationships through lace connecting chains and made jewelry. A piece of parchment was handed to the women and they were to write down a word God laid on their heart. The word God led me to write was pour as I was struggling with issues of my ministry here on the island. We were asked to write a brief sentence about the word and its purpose. We were to pray about the word. Suddenly things became clear concerning the direction my life needed to go and the purpose for my ministry. I was asking God to pour his Spirit upon my work here, to touch hearts and to change lives. I was asking God to pour out the riches of heaven upon me and it was clear to me that this is where God has intended me to be, at least for a season.
The Kindled by Fire session was a gentle invitation for the participants to come into the presence of God: to bring petitions to him, to listen to His leading and to proclaim our scrolls over the whole congregation. God rekindled the fire of faith in many hearts and lives as the Holy Spirit moved the people to just cherish being in the presence and reverence of the mighty God. Luke 24: 32 explains how the Holy Spirit left a mark on the souls of the women when the disciples declared; "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us and opened scriptures to us?" Dr. Hill challenged the women to stand before their own burning bush; to know what God has called them to do and to fan into flame the gift of God which is in you, 2 Timothy 1:6. People need the flame we carry as women and God commands us to share it with others as He says in Joel 2;28; I will pour out my spirit upon all people and in verse 2:32 God declares " and everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
As a final declaration of God's word upon the women these words were spoken;
I am one of the women of Zion.
I carry what He gives. I speak what He says.
I will not delay. I will not bow to fear.
I step into what He already spoke.
The Word has been given - and I will proclaim it.
I am part of the great company.
I will rise. I will speak.
And I will see His glory come.
